| What is Tiger Cubs...
Tiger Cubs BSA, for 1st grade boys and their adult partner, is a part of the program of the Boy Scouts of America. The basic element of Tiger Cubs is the boy-adult team. The adult may be a parent, grandparent, adult brother or sister, aunt or uncle or even a neighbor. The only requirements are that the adult be 18 years of age or older, care about the boy, and have a strong commitment to his well-being. The boy and his adult partner join Tiger Cubs BSA together. How do we sign up? 1. At Tiger Cub Registration Night, the boys and their adult partner will be organized into Tiger Cub dens. Den size is about 8 boys. 2. Adult partner will compete the registration form, pay the annual registration fee, and Boys’ Life magazine subscription (optional). 3. One of the “Den” parents will volunteer to be the Tiger Cub Coach. The “Den” parents will decide on a weekly meeting day/time and place. Tiger Cub dens meet twice monthly, and attend the monthly Pack meeting. |
The
Tiger Cub Program
The Tiger Cub program introduces boys and their adult partners to the excitement of Cub Scouting as they “Search, Discover and Share” together. The Tiger Cub program is conducted on two levels. First, the Tiger Cub and his adult partner meet in the home to conduct activities for the whole family. Second, the
Tiger Cub and adult partner meet
twice a month with other Tiger Cubs/adult partners in the den, using
the
“big idea” (or theme) for their activity.
Each den meeting is hosted by a Tiger Cub/adult partner team, teams will rotate hosting duties. Boys remain in the Tiger Cub program until they finish 1st grade. Then, they graduate into a Cub Scout den, and may participate in Cub Scout summer activities, including Day Camp. |
